So I was sitting and thinking about the word ‘transparent’. I searched for a photo and found this one on Flickr. Check out the picture.
If you cover up the monitor screen of the laptop, what would we ’not’ know about this photo?
1. The laptop is sitting on someones lap?
2. Is the cat awake or a sleep?
3. Is this a male or female holding the computer?
4. What race is this person?
5. What color pants is he wearing?
But when you uncover the monitor to the transparent state, you finally get the whole picture.
This is how God wants us to be in our lives! He wants us to use our hurts, our weaknesses, and our sin experiences for his glory by being transparent to others so they will share and not feel alone. Nothing is worse than feeling like you are the only one in the world that has a problem! We are to set the example for others so they can say “wow, I’m not alone”. This is such a great way to share the gospel if they don’t know the Lord. Also a great way to show others ‘you are only human, this is how God made me, I’m imperfect’.
